Coolant- whats the difference?

My Ride: 2006 525d M-sport,19" staggered style 95 wheels,custom quad exhaust with modified reiger rear bumper insert,LCI front and rear lights,stage 2 custom remap, DPF removed, cat removed

Coolant- whats the difference?

I know you have to use a G48 coolant in my E61, but does anyone know why? Whats the difference between G48 and normal etholyn glycol coolant?

Its formulated different. I would just spend the extra money and not worry about issues later. Mix BMW coolant with distilled water 50/50.

I am definately using bmw coolant, i was just wondering what the difference was
