i have now owned both: a dark e61 and a lighter (silver gray) e60 and i have to admit, any of the 19" oem alloys (either 167, or 166: have had both setups on both of my cars) looks much better on the darker car. i had the same thoughts as you - lighter car, easier to keep clean. but this time, I was lucky to buy a car where the previous owner spent 600 EUR in the nano-versiegelung, and although all these years i have thought people were stupid to pay this money on such crap, i am impressed how clean the car is even during these autumn rainy days... well impressed.

ps. don't consider the switch - from an aesthetic point of view, the dunlop tires are relatively slim, look at how small the tires look on the 167 wheels on my car, speically the 275 rear... next summer set is going to be vredstein - they are wider than most of the tires offered..

I remember the "old" days when I wasn't smart enough to buy nice alloys for the winter and had to drive around with silly looking wheels made of steel...
