Guys,

My E61 has suffered with knocks and scrapes on the piece of body work between the rear bumper the boot.

I have seen this rear guard as a solution;

MSport Rear Guard

Has anybody had any experience with these or alternative solutions?

Cheers

RM

I imagine it will still get scuffed, just not as deeply/obviously. It needs to fit quite accurately or it will look a bit naff.

I have a boot liner made from hard plastic sheet that extends about 8 inches up on the sides, front and back. There are creases cut into it to create the folds and corners. It ends up being waterproof so great for hauling stuff to the tip etc. The rear flap can be folded down to protect the bumper. Only drawback is that it's hard plastic so anything but anti-slip - need a separate mat for that.

And the company seems to have disappeared - the product was called "bootsuit boot liner".

how about a lower tech solution? I keep a furniture mover's pad in the trunk/boot and just unfold it over the bumper when loading bumper-dangerous items. Pad also serves 2nd purpose to protect interior when packing large or awkward items inside the car.
