Hi All:

I have purchased a variety of BMW catalog items. My dealer gives me a 20% discount so that helps to reduce the pain of BMW pricing. What items do you have, and which are the winners and losers?

These are the ones I definitely like and recommend:

For 545i:

Car Cover--says BMW on the front and has a handy attached bag for storage

Seat Protector/Dog Protector--covers rear seats (back and front), door panels and backs of front seats--fits like a glove except for the door-panel part--good news is that it also fits my wife's X5 very well

Oil quart bags (2)--which I use to hold travel detailing supplies--have velcro on one side so they stick to the RHS of the trunk behind the stretchy mesh article retainer

Windshield Screen--easy to use, fits perfectly, and says BMW on front

I am not sure if I like this one yet:

For 545i:

Presentation Cover--purchased to use primarily on Z06 since silver grey 545i does not need covering in garage--not as easy to get on and off as I anticipated (i.e., it is very slippery)--the last time I removed it from the Z06 much lint was left behind

For 4.4i X5/Wife--Like and Recommend All

Rubber "trunk" floor cover--fits very well

Windshield Screen--easy to use, fits very well, and says BMW on front

CD Case, Card Holder, and Floppy Tote Bag--all very nice and work well

See Seat Protector/Dog Protector above.

Switch out the emergency brake handle and the shifter. The poplar ones in the catalog look much better than the standard ones...

My Ride: '05 545i, silver gray, black leather with anthracite maple wood, sport package, premium sound, navigation, cold weather package, electric rear sunshade, folding rear seat, satellite radio prep, PIAA 4150K fogs, red rear reflectors, hardwired Valentine One

Aux input
Luggage compartment net--I use it to separate the front & rear of trunk, so if I only have a few items, they don't slide all over.

I like you idea for use of the oil quart bags!

Yes, eventually, I will get a net too. And, the oil bags work great for things besides oil.

I have the car cover and used last winter during snow storm/freezing rain. It is a worthy investment.

I also have the all weather trunk mat (grey color tray), windshield screen (prefect fit the 530i windshield from inside and with BMW logo on the other side.
