Best achieved mpg?

Our E61's best fuel results so far are 28.44, 28.53, and 29.03 mpg (U.S.), all on interstates using Shell Premium 93 AKI fuel (~97-98 RON). The metric conversion is in the ~8.1 to ~8.3 liters/100 km range.
"235" is a good conversion constant between U.S. mpg and l/100 km. Specifically, 235/U.S. mpg = liters/100 km, or 235/liters/100 km = U.S. mpg.
For "'cross the Pond" discussions, some volume normalizing is probably required. The Imperial gallon used in the UK is ~1.2 U.S. gallons. We do use the same statute miles on land.

We just came back from a 2980 kms (1850 miles) long trip through Europe; I've never sen so many road works on Autobahn as this time, and I have been driving there since end of the 80s  Anyway, despite all the queues and that the car had five persons and a lot of luggage it averaged 8.4 lit/100 kms or 33.6 mpg (UK)/28 miles (US), which is not too bad for such a heavy car in those conditions
