I achieved 38mpg today on a 180 mile round trip cruising at 80-90 mph and this from a 535d! Traffic and weather conditions dictated driving style which can best be described as sensible without feeling frustrating. Anyone got better mpg from their 535?

With my '06 535D touring (chiptuned) I'm constantly between 10l/100Km and 11l/100km (23,5 mpg and 21,4mpg)
I don't remember to pass below 9l/100Km (26,1 mpg)
But I'm having a heavy foot. I'm on a very regularly basis above 160Km/h on highways

I managed to drive from High Wycombe to Leeds and return 40.7mpg in a 530d Auto. I only did it by setting cruise to 70mph though.
Normally get around 30.

Another 200 mile trip cruising speed range 70mph to peak of 130mph (short burst obviously) in what I deem real world driving achieved 35mpg. Says what it does on the box!

I've never had anywhere close to that, my combined average over the last year is about 30mpg. I haven't had it on a decent motorway run for 6 months or so now but plan one (1000 miles return) some time later this month. I'll see how it does on that now I've had the thermostats changed.

Would suggest to check something as obvious as tyre pressures - I was shocked to discover pressures on all 4 of mine were more than a bit out of range. Even more shocking considering had two rear ones replaced not too long ago. Felt difference almost immediately not surprisingly as well as improvement in fuel economy,
