Hi,

I have had a sept 2004 545 touring SE auto, with 23 factory options; for 15 months; now on 20000 miles.

I compained of squeaky seals after the first rain; dealer "lubricated them" but after a while it came back and they ordered new seals. Apparantly there is a service bulitin for this common fault; upgraded seals were needed.

The noise went for months, until dealer valeted the car. After the first rain the noise returned. Having removed silicone polish, with fairy liquid and water, the noise went.

My recommendation is to get the seals replaced under warrenty then monitor, but dont polish in the areas concerned.

I hope this helps;

Stewomble

PS a few pics of my beastie are attached for anyone interested!!

Most detailers tend to use a product called Gummi Plfege by Einszett
Gummi Pflege (as suggested by those experts over on detailingworld.co.uk)

Going to get some myself, when I find a UK supplier.

Here in Singapore, to remedy for the creaking doors, the local AD will use a high quality like transparent tape like the 3M Scotch Magic tape to stick on all the door sills. The service dept people call it "low friction tape". This tape actually offers a longer lasting solution than to change the rubber door seals.

I had a E36 with same noisy doors and after the "low friction tape" treatment, I used the E46 for another 2 years without any problem.
Hi BlueRex. I see you are from Singapore. I miss great Satay stalls. I have family in Singapore. In-laws. I was there early last year. I saw lots of BMW's. My aunt has a red 330i. Hey send some pix of your ride.

I will probably be in Singapore at end of year.
