Tried that

See my other thread http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=69576

Could be the sensor getting water in it via the rear roof spoiler. I took this spoiler off and can't see where it could have went. There is an electrical thingy but I think this is just the rear high level brake light.

I'm going to call one of the local dealers in morning and see if they can look at it.

My car was in the dealer service today where they fix the remote problem.

In the service they said that rear window wiper washer fluid sprayed to (fluid tube are broken)
control unit and that was broke the unit.
Service change new control unit and now (at last) the remote locking and opening works with both keys

Good to hear you got it fixed. Hope they can sort mine without much expense. When I had the control module out of the car it was bone dry and no signs of any water damage. Need to find out why my brand new tailgate glass button isn't working as well!

Had the car at the dealers today and they have told me it needs a new Body Control Module. Think its item 7 on this page on realoem http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mo...hg=61&fg=25

Was told its a big job and they'd need the car for more than a Sat morning! Anyone know where it is in the car and if I could fit it myself and get them to activate it?

I'm a bit wary about doing it DIY because they have already diagnosed this as the aerial diversity module which I duly bought from them and fitted myself and they told me they may not give me a refund for it! Turns out its not this part and as it wasn't returned within 5 days they may not take it back. The parts guy is going to find out for me so I'll give them a chance to sort it before getting too bothered.

Anyone had the body control module fitted and know how much it is?

Mine was done this week and it took the dealer a day and a half to complete the job. I was told that the wire connecting the amplifier was loose and they had to remove the head liners to gain access. The wire is hidden on the car roof, through the right hand side hinge and connect to the unit under the spoiler. It turned out the unit was ok (I thought it was damaged by water). All fixed under warranty which was lucky as it is due to run out soon.
