The lack of a dipstick is insane on these cars. The guys at the local bmw shop agree. I got the bimmergeeks protool bluetooth thing so I can at least know the engine temp before it becomes an emergency, but I really hate not having a dipstick. (06 530xi touring, 6mt)

It was full. The oil had only been in there a month.
