The M5 is too heavy (+150 kg than a 545i) and the V10 have the same torque of the 550i .
On track you can feel the major weight just entered in the pit lane .

545i/550i has a better mileage, the same torque, cheaper service costs .
But, most of all, 545i/550i has the max torque at 3500 rpm, the emmy at about 5500-6000 : to drive decently the M5 you have always to reach 6-7k rpm . And on the road it isn't possible .

And a modded 545i/550i (400 HP on 1600 Kg), imho, is better than an M5 .

The only thing from M5 I envy ?
The 7 gears: I would like to have another gear after the 6th .

You really think your 545 is "better" than an M5? 150kg heavier than the 545? Well I wonder why, maybe because it has 510hp and your car has what, 300 something? Wake up and give respect to a car greater than yours.

I think deep down inside you wish you had a m5 which is why you wasted your money and put M5 parts into your car.

The point is : 400 HP on 1600 Kg or 500 HP on 1750 kg ?
I prefer 400 HP on 1600 kg .

You have the little 6 cilinders and you cannot understand ...

Anyway, from 6 to 8 cilinders there is a big difference . From 8 to 10 NO . Most of all when the torque is the same .
The displacement is similar too .

You don't succed in understand that M5 bumpers are nice by themselves and not because they are M5 parts .

Do you know what car I would like to have ?
A 545i brought @5.2cc by Hamann or 5.4 from Racing Dynamics, not the useless M5 .
Or the Alpina B5 (my engine supercharged) . I didn't know it existed ..

300 something

400 in Autumn, pls . On 1600 kg . I am so sure to reach 400 HP (from 333, not 300 something) wall that I will dyno and post the diagram .

Coming back on M5, all cars beat it : CLS55!!, CLS63, Alpina B5, etc.

A good hypothetical M5 should be V8, 8000 rpm, 480 HP, 1600 Kg .

your 545 does not have 400hp and if you did put that kinda of money to mod it then look at the gains you will get in the M5. I dont understand your hatred towards the M5, did some M5 owner make fun of you or something? I mean seriously, come on.

And you have 325 horsepower not 333. M5 has 510. Relax with the hatred and save your money, one day you too can say you have a real m5 without adding those M5 front brakes and Mtech kit

1. 333, not 325 . In Europe we have faster cars than in US
2. you can be sure about my 400 HP after vacation : with the only exhaust and map, I have already improved my 0-100 of about 0.3s . With headers and catalysts, RD declares +25 HP . Thus they will be 400 .
Money spent ? Less than you imagine .

3. If I wanted the M5, I could take it for only +10k .. At the start of 2005 there was the test drive M5 at the dealer . And they sold it after a month . I'm happy to haven't choosen the M5 .

4. M5 brakes are shit, compared to Brembos . But, thought weak, they have the advantage that you find pads in every dealer in the world (they are the same pads of 535d)

5. I'm sorry you can't understand : on the road, the M5 isn't faster than a 545i/550i .

Your saying then that with just breathing mods and a remap !!!! your going to gain with your words a Massive 67HP!!!!!!
My word man come back to the really world. the most you will get for everything in peak power is a 25 - 30 these are not mircle cars mate. You will increase yoru tourqe curve by a massive amount and mid range but peak not without allot of work mate sorry 400 is well out of reach for your mods

Pls turn on your brain : US specs BMW often have less HP than European .
And it is the case of 545i : 325 HP in US, 333 in EU .

Begin to mount serious parts and not a muffler by Dinan for $2000 (lol) and you will see how many HPs you will gain removing catalysts, change headers etc. on a modern engine developed to have 350 HP with strangled exhausts, catalysts, etc.
Anyway, my engine doesn't need your approval, to gain HPs .
But I want to be kind and if you still have doubts I can attach clips (0-100 and 100-200 kmh) that show the gained power, to you can download and open them with Quick Time Pro, to verify decimals .

Enjoy your heavy and no torque M5 (that is slower than 550i in the real drive conditions), at 30 MPH : lol, run (at 30 MPH) against a tree .

Everyone knows that the V10 is useless out of the track . No torque, 1800 Kg .
In the meantime, the B5, the CLS63 and S/RS6 Audi go 3 times the ridicolous M5, using less gas .
