This is what the dealer told me.
I dont know, technically i am allowed to drive on the roads I asked the dealer. But also its not my fault the dealer has to do it before selling his cars, and my parents are getting a MB GL450 from him.
Like I said, this was the issue before but not anymore. You can have a indy shop change the clusters for much cheaper than the stealer. I dont see how insurance would be effected by the clusters being in F or mph. Might want to change insurance companies or dealers if thats your case.
Seriously are you telling us you didn't conduct any due diligence prior to purchasing this vehicle? The Dealer has mis-informed you and is obviously is trying to stick you for some $$$. BMW Canada and another BMW dealer in the local Toronto area have both directly advised me that the only conversions necessary is the Speedometer and to activate the DRL. No SMG adjustment or climate controls required. Your car would have also had to go through RIV approval in order to become road worthy in Canada. Some advise though next time you should really do some research before purchasing.
Bimmerman is right.. DO YOU DUE DILIGENCE prior to purchasing ANY vehicle.. RESEARCH IS KEY!!!!

I hate rules.
Guys keep in mind the requirements have somewhat changed over the years and it is also dependant on your car year. The main point is in order to be able to license your vehicle in Ontario and it be deemed road worthy (Meet Canadian Standards),it must go through RIV Approval prior to selling so whoever sells the vehicle must make sure it obtains the RIV approval or it cannot be registered in Ontario.
The Insurance Companies have axcess to check the vehicle registration in Ontario by VIN # and if its identified then the vehicle has met the Canadian Standard (RIV Approval) and can be insured in Canada. However if it was not found then they probably won't insure the vehicle.
Due diligence is the key. Check with RIV to be sure!!!
