I haven't been on here much lately.. but hopefully this is the start of a contributing relationship
A buddy of mine has an 2002 Audi S4 with stage 2 turbos, exhaust and who knows what other mods ( he wont show/tell until we race). I have a completely stock e60 m5. Rumors circle that this s4 is over 500hp.
I think i dont even stand a a chance in off the line, but was thinking i could maybe get him top end in a 30-170mp/h (50-270km/hr). He's talked some smack about the m5 how its a "heavy piece" and shit like that.. I just tell him i still look down and am driving an M5.. you drive a riced up s4.. LOL! Ive attached a picture of it
Videos (maybe) and pictures to come of the event(both 1/4 mile and 30-70 rolling start).. im excited.. but am i gunna get my ass kicked?..
Your thoughts... Thanks.

Wow that thing looks like it has some mean turbos in it with the intercooler and piping....You will probably lose of the line but toward top end you should take him....

Don't bet anything and don't crash and you'll be fine.

That's a mean looking S4. Coincidentally a friend of mine also has a B5 S4 but I think he has a stage 3, I just forgot which company. I think it's AWE Tuning. He's been wanting to run with me as well. Those cars can put some serious power to the ground but yeah, I'm not sure how they are up top. I'd be interesting to see.

I've gotta say, people usually don't just throw the intercooler and some serious turbo piping (which I can clearly see in the pic) and leave all else untouched. Remember, those 2.7TT engines - you can get 350+ horses by just chipping them. Add to that the turbos, the timer (which I'm sure he has), some relatively off-the-shelf goodies and its not inconceivable he's running 500+ horses in that thing. What he does NOT have though, is the tranny, the newer electronic systems to keep traction in check and a V10 with a sick top end delivery... after all said and done, driver factor excluded from the equation, my money's on the M5

I have had loads of quick/tuned audis and they are very very quick! I have seen these B5's running over 1000bhp reliably!!
If he is runing a 500bhp+ tune (which is very easy to get, exhaust, intercoolers, new GT ball bearing turbos and a chip and thats it!!) he will have loads more torque than you (I'd guess at approx 600 lbft) and is running at approx 1600kg to your 1950kg.
therussian mensioned the transmition and traction, well they do have TCS but don't really need it with 4 wheel drive and the 6 speed manual transmition is pretty quick to use and very strong.
These B5's will do 200mph so will run all day with the M5 but he should be miles quicker to 150mph than you if he knows what he is doing.
I wouldn't bet a penny and just have a laugh if I was you!
Do a search on youtube to see how these things stack up, very impressive for not a load of cash but I would say the don't handle the best with a understeer stance unless you use the torque/throttle to slid round corners!!

Try these youtube clips
The last one just cuz it sounds great!
I'm not saying audis hold a candle to the M5 as a package but as a cheap rapid and very tune-able car they are great! I'm not about to swop from my M5 back to audi anytime soon.
