Speed limiter was removed at BMW M in Munich. 2250 euro incl. drivers training voucher.
Exhaust is from German tuner HARTGE. It includes rear silencers and removed middle silencer. A powerpipe ( x-pipe ) was installed instead of the middle one. Cost appr. 2500 euro total for the exhaust.

34.000km report:
New left headlight installed due to moisture. New horn installed ( it went silent! ).
Anti-trap warning from left rear window again!
Strange noise coming from steering when I move the wheel fully, either left or right ( sounds like thin metal bending/snapping ). This is being investigated by my dealer.
Tried the winter tyres a little harder yesterday. Did a full throttle acceleration from 30 km/h -> 240 km/h ( limit for the Pirellis!! ). Bad traction at low speed ( ofcourse ) and a little unstability / unceratinty at 240 km/h. For normal driving the Pirellis are very good IMO. They are more like summer tyres than winter tyres in their behavior. Haven?t had the chance to try them in real heavy/slippery snow conditions yet.
Using D-mode a lot now during winter. It?s actually not that bad, when you get to know how to drive it. It?s far from driving the steptronic in my 545, but anyway it?s useful in heavy traffic, town driving or when speaking on the phone etc.
Still loving every minute of my time in the M5

Thanks!
This is the greatest BMW board IMO.
I think that if you share your own experiences you get a lot of information and knowledge from all forum users. There is no better way to learn more about your BMW than being active on this board.
BTW, how do you like the 550i? How is the comfort access working IRL?
Just read the other day ( German Car mag ) that they thought that the 4.8L V8 is the best V8 ever!!
Sometimes I miss the smoothness of my 545iA, especially the steptronic.
Did I wright that

I wish I could tell you!! It won't get here til late February!! But wow have I ever learned a lot on this forum in the past month!! I plan on sharing lots of photos and stories! My Dad and brother are pilots and I used to fly too but never wrote the test , in fact my Dad used to fly a couple different Pitts Special's in airshows. Commercial pilots as well and we have had many aerial spraying planes. He went to Florida last year to learn to fly a helicopter, but it was too booked up so he will go later. Cool to hear about your job! Anyhow enjoy and I look forward to sharing as well! Merry Christmas

Very cool! Is that available in Canada? I assume that is the Aluminum Cube trim you have? I wasn't able to see it at the time of ordering. Looks awesome!
