I was codriver with Thed Bj?rk (STCC= Swedish Touring Car Championship) racedriver, when he tested a regular M5 for a few laps at Anderstorp raceway.
It was a brutal experience, I must say, especially the gearchanges in sport mode.

Speed limiter can be removed by a BMW dealer, bur for the cost of 2350 euro

SMG lever forward and hold
Throttle fully down
Car stabilizes at 4500 rpm
Let go of SMG lever............................................y iiihaaa

The funny thing is, I remember you saying that the tires burn-out (wheel spin) in the first two gears and doesn't "bite" until midway up the RPM's in third. Now, that either means BMW paired cheap tires with the car or the engine is a freakin' monster...I'm inclined to believe the latter.
It'll take some time to practice placing the revs in the right place to have an acceptable launch.

Ah pretty much what I thought...
///M mode... which is P500 and S6 and hardest suspension etc etc.. DSC off and Hold the downshift paddle (or center stick) and Gas it. When ready let go of the paddle.
Very similiar to the E46 ///M3

I also thought that it was a little too much wheelspin with LC, but after trying a normal launch in 1st gear I understand that these 500+hp is not easy to modulate with the throttle!!!
