I wouldn't worry about it one bit. After the cranking phase, the exhaust should be letting out a loud resonance followed by the characteristic 'diesel'-like ticking from the engine while cold-idling. If you're really concerned, why not post a YouTube video of a cold startup? That way, we can give you feedback whether the sounds coming from your M5 are normal (or not).
Ya, I guess i can do that haha... its fairly easy to do now a days... but since you mentioned you tube I just went on and did a quick search... mines like this one notice how "weak" it sounds when starting...
Compared to the 545 this thing sounds like its out of breath! LOL But you're right its nice and loud after it starts up and does have the diesel like ticking... I love the loud resonance during the cold starts

Go back to your 545 Eric. You don't deserve this car. LOL!
Instead of going through the trouble of bringing your car in for service and asking them to check it out, just go to the dealer and have them start up one of their M5s and see how it sounds.

My car has had a weak, almost low battery start after as little as a 4 day sit. Time and Date were reset too... it did it after that and after winter storage

Yup, that's how my car sounds/starts up just like that clip. What matters more is the engine singing above 5000 rpm, not the sound of the starter cranking the engine! Enjoy your car!
