I priced an M5 out on the UK site, and when converting Pounds to Dollars, the price came out to 115K. That can't be right. Do we know how much the thing will actually be sold for?

I would predict it will cost 20k more than the 545i. Which probably 85k-90k... before tax though..

Agree. My initial estimates were around $85K. Given the extremely favorable reviews and pent-up demand, the price could go higher. No more than $90K or so for the base car though.

Based on the fact that I am a sick &*^%. I am starting to wonder based on the fact that the residuals on the M5 will be through the roof, if waiting for the the M5 may be worth the extra cash.

Does anyone know if BMW will do a 1yr lease on a 545?

I'm definitly considering a 2 year old used M5 to replace my 545 sometime in mid-late 2007. I always say I'll never buy a new car again and take the huge depreciation hit. The best is to buy a 2 year old car but then the problem becomes finding one that you like with your color, interior, options, etc.. and in M5 territory I guess there won't be many used M5's on the market. Anyhow, off topic a little. A new M5 is going to cost a lot. Don't forget to add an extra 5 - 7.5k for B.S. sales tax! Gah!
