My Ride: (E60) 535D M-Sport (DMS)

Well after much head scratching i've put pen to paper & paid my deposit on the following:

BMW E60 M5 in Interlagos Blue
May 2005 05 Reg with 8000 miles
Extras are:
Full Black Merino Leather
Extended Voice Control
Aluminium Cube Trim
BlueTooth Phone Preperation & Nokia Cradle
Extended Voice Control System
Hi-Fi Professional Logic 7
M-Multi Functional Seats (active back, lumbar & side bolster as also found in new RS4)
Side & Rear SunBlinds (Rear Electric)
TV Function (Freeview Digital & Analogue)
Through Load System Inc Ski Bag
Universal Remote Control

Due to pick it up on Friday 12th May, as they need to enable MP3, change the wood trim to Aluminium Cube, Update CIP to latest available & detail/valet the car to perfection, as i noticed a few light surface scratches on the doors, no doubt where people have been viewing the car inside the dealership.

May have the DMS re-map & de-limit done at some point, but i'm going to live with the car for a few weeks first.

I can't believe i'm selling the DMS 535D M-Sport so soon, as it's a fabulous car & i'll be very sorry to see her go, however the deal on this M5 is almost too good to be true & therefore needed to be purchased by me

Will post photos & report after i've taken delivery.

Coming from the highly modified RS6 to the DMS 535D M-Sport was a pleasant savings experience, but i'm sure the M5 won't be as thirsty as the RS6, so i'm kinda used to it.

For longer runs, i intend to not be heavy footed & try to get the 26MPG that BMW quote however on the back roads & perhaps some track work again i'll expect to be shelling out big time.

Good one!

Most of the guys on www.bm3w.co.uk are sitting around the 10mpg mark. I took one out for a test and it came back with 7.9mpg on the OBC!

Absolutely awesome car though and a different league to my 535dms, I am very jealous!!

That's very heavy footed

I think i can get better economy on the journeys i need to return better economy (business trips). For playtime i'd expect low teens or even lower. The Blurb states 12.1MPG Urban, 27.7MPG Extra-Urban & 19.1MPG Combined.

Price was ?58,000 out the showroom.

Seen similar cars advertised with slightly-much lower spec ranging from between ?60,000 & ?69,000. The list price with all the options is just short of ?75,000 & given it's the dealership owners car (trend forming here), it stood them at ?66,000 in their books as i requested to see their internal stock listing (learnt that trick when i bought my 535D).
