I thought the same, but when you take a closer and long look at it... the camera angle is different...
I'm still not sure, but on the phone my dealer said he thinks it's the same... I'll find out tomorrow...

Excellent, I have Titanium trim, but I'd like to replace it with black maple wood. I'll probably wait until these pieces are available and do it all at once.

Although the dials, switches, and CD/DVD slots seem to be the same on the 5 and 6 series, the trim panels themselves don't look like they are the same (although close). Also neither the dark or light wood trim on the 6 series is the same as any of the E60 wood trims. Even the metal look trims are different (E63=Ruthenium, E60=Titan II or Aluminum).

no, 6 trim is different to 5, I started this thread because I'd heard the 5 was to get the same treatment as standard from 2005.

6 trim will not fit 5 series.

Too bad...
So we can only get a wood trim for the lower part, where the DSC and the other buttons are...

I just talked to my dealer and they don't have the part number or the price yet.
Other changes are that the poplar will become available light (instead of dark only) and the surrounding of the window switches will become different, so that they'll look better. They will be somehow shiny. The DSC button will be a DTC button, so the letters on it change. The other changes have allready been discussed on this board, like an M steering wheel, an M aerodynamic package, etc...
Talking about the engines... the 550...
BMW is working to improve the 545i engine, but they don't know yet if it will be a 550...

More things they change on the MY 2005:

Nav will now be available with BT.
TV will now cost 100 Euro more and is also a digital TV tuner, you are now able to switch from analogous to digital (DVB-T).
SMG price increases 50 Euro.

DAM !!!

I would really love the digital tv, I use my analog tuner a lot...often listen to the tv audio on the go, great if you have to leave home in the middle of a favourite program for a meeting!

guess they won't be offering trade-ins on analog tuners!
