I just talked with my salesperson. He told me that he has seen a pic where the lower part was wood, not the two upper parts where the cd-slots and the a/c buttons are.
I remember seeing a 6series where the complete middle section was covered with wood. The dashboards of 5 and 6 are the same... Is there a poplar wood trim for the 6, what we can install on the 5series ? If so, the lower section will become available for the MY05, so it would be possible to retrofit the complete middle secton...

I'll call my dealer tomorrow and ask if this is available in poplar and if he can take a closer look on the sizes. If they have it in poplar I'll give it a try.

Too me, it looks like the 6 series trim is more steeply angled at the edge, where the trim converges down to the centre console. That said, it might just be the angle the photo was taken from.
