Besides the price, can anyone tell me what difference is between the Bridgestone Pole Position RE050 and RE050A in the non-RFT versions?

The RE050 are a symetrical tread pattern(can be mounted any side out) ....... and the RE050A are an assymetrical tread pattern (ie a this side out type of tread)

hope this helps

Does this make the asymmetrical version also unidirectional (there are tires for the left side, and tires for the right side)?

Also - do you know what the dry/wet handing differences are between the two?

Thanks!

I've ran both tires and the pole positions offers much more grip in the dry. Really on par with the PS2s IMO, but at a lower price point.

I too have heard nothing but good things about the pole position. Go to "www.tirerack.com" and check out the customer's reviews and compare them directly to other preimum tires...you might be surprised...good value for the $$'s.
