I had mine done w/ the Huper Optik for $400.? The ceramic does a better job of actually blocking out the full spectrum, particularly the infrared, which gives it better heat reduction that standard metallic tint.? And its important for the E60 (and other models) because the radio antenna is actually in the rear window.? If you put the metallic tint, radio reception will suffer.? If you NEVER listen to the radio and only listen to CDs or even Sirius, where the antenna is in the shark fin, you can go with the metallic.

Which brings me to a new question in this thread. Once or twice a year I like to use a CB radio. We do a convoy thing to the Great Lakes from Texas in the summer and it helps the group stay coordinated -- awake, too. I have always used a magnetic mount, but do not want to take any chances with this paint job. (I like it better than you do, Ice.
). So, I bought one that mounts through the glass. I found a good deal on a Midland Power Max Model 18-258B. Now I have dilemmas galore.
1. Cannot mount over any defogger wires or in glass antenna.
2. Must be 3' from any external radio antenna (shark fin external?)
3. Once mounted, this thing is going to stick tighter than the proverbial Dick's hat band.
This has left me looking at the only spot I can find as being the rear quarter panel glass on the driver side passenger window. Problem is that when the door opens, the cable is going to be in the way plus the antenna itself will require any rear passenger to do some maneuvering. There is also a ground wire to contend with on the inside glass connection, but I will deal with that when I solve the miriad of other obstacles. Actually, it can be mounted on any non metallic surface, but I can't find one of those either -- glass, plastic, fiber glass, etc.
Do any of you fellows have any ideas?
