Question Wanting heated seats! Needing help!!

So, I had to replace my 07 E60. I had the heated seats and steering wheel, loved it.

But, in my replacement, it was a Florida car and does not have either heated seats or steering wheel, no heated seat button DSC control module and not listed in the VIN decoder.

I know I'll need the DSC module with the heated seat buttons.

Were all seats built as either basic/sport/m-sport? Where you could have the seats with or without the heated seat controls, and the heating elements are in all seats?

I am wanting to either retrofit my car and add heated seats or if the parts are already built into the seats, make the heated parts functional.

If I have to buy seats, I am going with black and replacing the auburn (rotorange) the seats and door panels.

Has anyone here put in heated seats in their car where they didn't exist before and got them working? If so, where do I start?

oohh. you are getting rid of a highly desirable interior color. It should sell nicely.

I see you have done a rear seat heat retrofit. Can you tell me about it? How you went about it? How you did it and what all was involved?

I think ultimately, I will be swapping out for some heated seats in the future. Just gotta save the money and pull the trigger on the best seats/module/wiring I can find for my budget. :-)

This is the thread I used to install factory heated seats in my 2001 325i. The electrical will all be different in your car but here is a general idea of what you are looking at. It is a process but it is well worth it.

You can also buy black leather covers with the heating elements and just replace the leather instead of buying all new seats. But you should have no problem selling your current color.
