The section that was cutout is seperated from the mainheadlight area. We resealed it with a glue gun. its pretty good seal.

So I have a spare headlight laying around anyways and started playing around with it to check this mod out. Is it just me or is it a pain to cut the rubber? My razors aren't the sharpest in the world but not horrible either. I'm planning to get some exactoknives or at least new blades to try it out again but just wanted to see how long I should expect to chop away at the rubber.

You can get a tube of automotive urethane windshield caulking from an autoparts store for about $8. I would not trust a glue gun. Glue guns have never held up for me in the past.

i am done! Thanks Eugene and Mike!! Easiest way to take them apart is use a razor and start cutting, then use a metal spatula and a hammer and hammer the hell out of it.

Use a torch lighter if you have to heat up the rubber but very quickly not to damage the headlight... also used small screw drivers and picks to pull at it and cut away all the ruber ones it loose of the light.... I know its a pain... THATS WHY MIKE NOR MYSELF AND NOW PROBABLY JON DONT EVER WANNA DO IT AGAin.. lol
