I have a service + aux input installation appointment at Crevier BMW on Jul 20th. Crevier is new at installing aux input's they quoted 1hr of labor..we'll see if that holds. I purchased the aux harness at Crevier for $75.

Busta: Any update on how your aux install went with Crevier? I just got my 2006 530i at Crevier and am looking to get the aux install. Thanks.

Welcome to our forums emmfan

Install went smooth, everything works perfectly. They stuck with their 1hr labor quote. I would recommend Crevier for a aux-input install.

I am getting my new e60 tomorrow and I believe they installed my Aux Input today at a cost of 180.00 Euro.

The dealer in Ireland is Murphy and Gunn of Milltown, Dublin.

Guys,

I'm in Indonesia and I think I'm the first one here to use the Aux input as BMW Indonesia told me that they have only 1 Aux input and I'm the one who bought it.
My BMW dealer has done the Aux install for just $125 Total
$75 for the Aux input and $100 for the installation and software update.

I just have to rewire the connectors to make work perfectly.
Now i'm going to order the video switcher from Dominic to add Video capability in my Idrive system.

Brgds,
David

Long Beach BMW has agreed to install both the Aux input and a cell phone dock that uses the fin antenna and charges the phone.

My current status is that the system crashed after the hardware was installed and BMW NA is to provide a modified software module early next week to rectify this.

Spoke to them before X-mas and was quoted a$275.00 labor and $75 for parts for the AUX input.
The reason they charge more than the BMW 'suggested 1.5 hrs. is that this seems to cause multiple software crashes,, he said and could take all day because of that. Now I read here the iDrive SW is a MicroShaft OS!

Paul, you are obviously buying the expensive BMW phone with that cradle? And how much for parts and labor?

I finally got my aux input installed at Crevier in Southern California. It came out to about $200 for everything, parts and labor. But the problem was when they tried installing it the first time, the radio in my 530 wouldn't take the software upgrade. So they ordered another radio and I brought it back again the following week. But turns out the radio that they ordered was a German language version, so they had to re-order with the English language version. Now everything is installed and working, just was a bit of a hassle having to leave the car overnight twice.

One aside, is that with the software upgrade, MP3 CD's all work fine now (before the upgrade, I couldn't get any of them to work, even having purchased at the end of 2006).

In an E60, 535D Eccelsa (like Limousine) bought in April 2006 in Italy , the Aux input is not an optional, but by series. It's mounted on posterior end of central tunnel end not in glovebox. Ahrg!
No control on ipod, but sound by Lexicon Logic7 audio system is very clear & rich in particular playing Flac files!

If you know better solutions or ipod controls other than FM modulators, please POST IT here!

P.S.: What's I dream?
To control ipod video using like interface the HeadUp Display & steering wh. keys!
