Wherever you want, but the recommended place is in the glove box.

BMWPARTSGUY sold me the part for $60 (+ or -). East Bay BMW (Pleasanton) installed it for me for $149.

Does the aux input replace the CD Changer access if you have that?

What do you mean?
The AUX Input is extra.

Yes

The AUX is a extra connection that does not replace anything

The Ipod connection ( which is not yet available for the E60 ) replaces the CD changer on other BMW models

Add Imported Car Store of Melbourne, Florida. I cannot accurately provide cost other than to say it appears to be in line with reasonable costs.

Ordered Aux Input and Motorola v551 snap-in adapter for install prior to delivery of my 6er. Total was $300 for all, not itemized. It might have been their first install as they were surprised at the amount of labor required (1.5 hard hours). they probably did not read the bulletin prior to the start of this as well.

Anyway, completed prior to pick up of 6er yesterday and Aux works as advertised.

Hi Bedford,

Talk to Rob Hannafin @ BMW of Peabody.
When I was there last month he told me that they just did it on a 5 just recently.
I don't remember the price but if I remember correctly it was somewhere in the mid $200's ??

They do great work there and Rob knows the E60 VERY well!

I don't have an iPod (or any MP3 player for that matter) so it's of no interest to me... Yet!

Long Beach BMW has agreed to install both the Aux input and a cell phone dock that uses the fin antenna and charges the phone.

My current status is that the system crashed after the hardware was installed and BMW NA is to provide a modified software module early next week to rectify this.
