Maybe then you mean "the auto" rather than "a (sic) auto"? ;-)

Yes, the gearbox for the 525d, 530d, 535d and 545i are the same.

Something I read somewhere, mentioned as a quote from Kempower: "In principle, BMW sticks to the following rule with regards to the maximum burden on their gearboxes:
- manual gearbox: max 1.5 times the original torque / breakdown at 1.7 times
- auto gearbox: max 1.7 times the original torque / breakdown at 2.0 times
Correct or not? Don't know.
But in a way I understand this, since a manual gearbox can be pushed (i.e. challenged) a bit further than an automatic, which I believe is the reason why manual cars usually accelerate tenths of secs faster than an automatic.
A manual gearbox pays for the use of the clutch I would expect, and will therefore not last as long as an auto gearbox under same torque conditions.
My logic could be incorrect though...

I also see that you have an Eisenman exhaust. Does it give better performance and what is the sound like?

Somehow the thing doesnt make sense. If the 525d has the same gearbox as the 535d and the 525d gearbox can take the same torgue as the 535 x faktor 1.7 breakdown is even higher x 2 that would mean a auto gearbox of a 525d can take 8OO or more NW? It seems unlogical.
