My Ride: 535i Sports/Premium package, Sports transmission w/ paddle shifters, Tinted tails/side markers/reflectors, Blacked out emblems

My tires are about bald so I figure this would be a good time to upgrade from my 18" 124 stockers. I've currently got them plastidipped black and been running the blacked out look for awhile. I've narrowed it down to these wheels and since they are all similar I think the color choice is driving me nuts.

I'm looking at VMR 710, Miro 111, Avant Garde 310, something similar to those or just picking up some OEM 166s and painting them myself. What are people running on their black cars? Mine is black sapphire and I'm struggling between going with matte or gloss black, gunmetal, or silver.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

I have the same color and have a set of stock OEM 167s on. I think it adds a nice contrast to the car. I'm not a fan of the blacked out look tho.

Silver on black actually looks really nice, my 20" Miro 111's are silver. I plasti dip'd my 18" OEM wheels black for when I want to track (not exactly forged wheels but still lighter than Miro) and I honestly like the silver contrast more than black/black.

I was probably going to go with 19" because what I've read around here is that the 20" rides alot worse than the 18" that I currently have and the 19" too. I drive the kids and the wife around on the weekend and I don't want the ride to be too rough.

I'm trying to stick around the price range comparable to the miros or the VMRs. If I were to get 166s I'd get them used somewhere.

I prefer the look of the stock 172s, but that may be too standard for you.

Thanks for the input guys. I searched all over last night and have narrowed it down to getting either a silver, hyper black, or gunmetal finish.

Thoughts on 19in vs 20in? How much rougher a ride is a 20in going to be compared to 18in? my 535i has the sports package suspension. I"ve seen you can get coilovers that are adjustable for comfort but I do not have the budget for that right now.

I've also narrowed it down to the following rims (based on available finishes)

Alufelgen SF-71 or CS7 in hyper black
Eurosport Monza in hyper black or gunmetal
Miro 111 in silver
VMR 710 in gunmetal
VMR VB3 in silver or hyper black if i can find it.

Seems like everyone has miros but unless i am missing something or late to the game these other wheels look very similar.

I can only remember 1 member here having the SF-71. I remember they were my first choice in either, you guessed it, hyper black, silver, or gunmetal. Alufelgen's customer service seems sketchy though. They start threads, people respond and ask questions, but Alufelgen doesn't. Not even on their own thread. I attempted multiple emails and PM's to them but no response. With that, I dropped them from my list.

Have you looked into Forgestar F14? They're within that budget as well. Morr V8.2 look pretty cool as well. It's on sale in the Vendor Classified section.

The sidewalls for the 19" are similar to the 20" xxx/35/xxF, xxx/30/xxR. I'm guessing the ride will be the same. However, the 19" would feel lighter. I went from 17" to 20" and it made a big difference in the ride.
