I'll copy myself from another thread:
By applying this same reasoning, short-throw shifters are of no value either. The person should "just reach farther," right? Neither are shorter, lighter trigger pulls on a firearm. One should "just pull harder," correct?

I don't believe everything I read, but prefer when possible to try it myself. I would hazard to guess that the majority of naysayers have never tried the SB. But, if they indeed do believe everything they read, then I suppose they will take your comments above as the truth as well.
We should just quit all this silly car modding shit anyway right??

What I don't understand is how folks write off data as if it were opinion and say things like, "Screw the white paper". I do think comments like these (essentially ignoring the facts) are a bit ignorant. No reason to deny facts; embrace what they are and enjoy the feeling they give you.
Anyhow, I sold my SB after playing around with it for a couple weeks. In fact, my "For Sale" post was the first post I made on e60.net.

I'm not a naysayer and I have owned one. I also understand what this device does, how it works, and how it can make one "feel". It is a really fun mod. However, I did not let my feelings overpower my understanding for what was taking place. Others do and they have every right to love it. I even agree that it is pretty cool to only press the pedal down slightly a have your car lunge forward.

Knowing Marc, I believe what he said was at least partially in jest. Like you, I've experienced the SB and read the article. I do not disagree with what it says. I do, however, enjoy the feeling of the SB. Those who just read the article are akin to those who say they do not enjoy X piece by Mozart based on a music review, never having heard it. That is ignorance of the worst kind.
