Sprint Booster - does it make a difference on a mapped car?
First of all,thats a really beautiful e60 u got there in my opinion. 2nd, it definitely makes a big change. As C's said before, it eliminates the left over lag, and also its more sensitive to the pedal. I think you should definitely get it !

I have the JB on my 530i and I tell you its great, it does all what the sprint booster does but also gets the rev limiter removed and tune the a\f structure. Result, added torque and HP gains
I dont know why someone would get a Sprint booster when they could get a lot more for the same price

i am one of a few on this board that think that the SB is not a worthwhile product. i purchased one this summer and returned it after about a week of use.
first of all, the product is misrepresented, as it does not decrease throttle "lag," it simply amplifies throttle response at any given pedal depression point. i define throttle lag as when you give your car gas, the momentary pause before your car responds. the SB will not eliminate this at all. if you put your pedal down 20% of the way, your car without the SB will react with a 20% throttle response. however with the SB, if you depress your pedal by 20%, your car will react with something like a 30% throttle response in green mode, and a 40% or so in the red mode. all the SB does it make your pedal travel shorter.
in fact there is a member here that has a PDF of testing that was done with instruments that measure throttle response and proved that the SB does just that. also it proved that after 80% of your pedal is depressed or so, there is absolutely no more acceleration with the SB installed.
basically, with the SB installed, your car will react quicker with less PEDAL, but won't react quicker with less TIME. personally i think the makers of SB really threw out some incorrect and tricky marketing on the product, because it doesn't adjust the lag in your throttle in any way whatsoever.
btw, your car looks really, really awesome. one of the better looking E60s i've seen. i would pass on the SB though.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, I had my car set up on a dyne today. If I could figure out how to upload the videos I will show you guys. Apparently the guy doing it was well impressed with the car! I think I might have a go on the dyne at a top speed run to see what it can achieve

dyno is usually done in whatever gear is closest to a 1:1 ratio (1 crankshaft turn = 1 driveshaft turn) to get the truest power numbers being delivered to your rear wheels. i think that is 5th in the automatic transmission of the E60s. doing it in 2nd or 6th or whatever would just skew your numbers.
