I have been going through this thread since quite a few days and have done some research on that basis.

I want to do a SAT and M5 paddle shift retrofit. I have an e60 LCI 530i (07/08 - production).

Based on that I have consolidated the part numbers for a RHD SAT retrofit.

1) 61319208272 - RHD SAT Lever
2) 51166985887 - Console Cover
3) 61319142869 - Sport Button
4) 61319212220 - ECU

And for the paddle shift steering I've had a look at the kit offered from Motive Mods by Roger.

Coming to my problem -
Reading from this thread the hardware bit of the SAT is pretty straightforward, but to get 100% functionality I need to get it coded from the dealer and have him change my VO to the required values and then do the coding accordingly.
However, the kit that motive mods is supplying doesn't require any coding and is basically a plug and play unit.

Now if I intend to do both of them together, how would this work out ? Would I still need to get the car coded to accommodate the SAT ?
But since the paddle shift doesnt require any coding, would just installing it bypass the need for any coding and give me 100% functionality ?

I hope this makes any sense, because reading it back seems confusing to me !!

Hope I can get some help.
Thanks

p.s. - Great forum and great thread !
keep in mind the motive kit looks cool, but their M Shifter Retrofit Kit For E6x 5-Series does not have the sport button and you will not be able to engage the sport mode if you do the coding. you will need to flash the transmission and code the other modules to make it work right.-- along with changing the VO.

good luck getting the dealer to do all of this, they typically do not want to make those mods...

I was using SP DATEN V52 previously and just updated to SP DATEN V54 last night. Neither version contains either ZUSB 76040158 or 76040160 in the GKE215 data folder. According to the GKE215.ATS file contained within the V54 GKE215 folder, my car's production code (NV93) is ZUSB 76040160 corresponding to $205. the GKE215.ATS file has zero mention of the two numerically closest files I have, which are 76040159 and 76040161. Are these newer versions of the files? I have opened both in Notepad and both appear to be for US spec E60 with N54B30. How do I determine the correct ZUSB for $2TB for the daten I have?

Thanks for the reply.
But, I'm not going for the M shifter from motive mods.

I have already bought the SAT gear lever with the sports button.
I'm looking to get the paddle shift kit they offer (m5 Steering wheel) which gets full functionality without any coding changes.
Hence my question about the compatibility of the SAT and the paddle shift steering wheel.

Can anyone help me with the ebox wiring on my car, I'm in the uk ( right hand drive) and my ebox looks like this:
[IMG][/IMG]

Is it the White plug?

This picture earlier in this thread had some confusion but seemed to end saying it's the White plug, but the picture looks like it's for a left hand drive car? As the image is reversed? Is it still the White plug I use on my car?

Thanks in advance!

Actually WDS seems to be wrong on this...

Kleynie's post on page 45 shows X6031 as a Black connector...

your car must be pre LCI!

on LCI connector x6031 is 12 pin while non LCI it is 8 pin

anyone with lci gearbox know where pin 11 goes from x6031 connector? I believe it goes to gearbox x8500 connector but what pin?

my problem is that I have retrofitted LCI gearbox on pre LCI car. Now I have retrofitted paddle shift steering wheel. But I don't know where to run that wire from SZL. On LCI it is simple because a wire already exist in ebox connector x6031. which I don't have. need to figure out where that pin goes. nothing in wds I am afraid..
