Here's an excerpt of the GKE215.ATS file
Code:
;Fahrzeugzuordnung (Auftrags-Steuerdatei) vom 13.11.2009 11:51 ;TAIS-Abfragedatum (ab) 26.11.2009 FZG;LA;SA;ZB_NR;SE_VS NV93;;205;7601460;VS NW13;;2TB;7601458;VS NW13;;205;7601460;VS
This is an excerpt of my GKE215.DAT file
Code:
$ PS10INIT N00000000000000000000000055000000000000 V $ VERSIONKFCONF: kfconf10.dat ;Zusbauvorschrift vom 11.11.2009 09:22 ;SG-TYP: GKE215 ;ZB-NR TYP-NR HW-NR IX SW-NR AM PIN S CS 7601460,0000000,7591971,A,7601461DA,0FFFFFFFFFD,000,1 Y 7601458,0000000,7591971,A,7601459DA,0FFFFFFFFFD,000,1 8
If you already have WinKFP setup, click on Comfort Mode, then click Enter ZUSB and enter 7601458 - you should see something like this.
Then just hit okay, click enter VIN and type it in, then go back to the main menu (hit done) and then click program.

I re-flashed GKE as terraphantm described and it worked perfectly.
Now when I press the sport button, it actually does something other than just display "sport" on the dash. Now I can tell the transmission is in "sport" mode because it downshifts like it does when the lever is over to the left in sport mode. I have not tested for higher shift points, or anything like that. When the sport button is pressed AND I have the lever to the left my gear display now shows S1, S2, S3, etc
I'm not sure what the combined behavior is (sport button and lever to the left) other than the display.

Do you notice any driveability difference between the sport button and "DS" mode? Trying to decide if it's worth retrofitting the physical stuff
Oh I should probably mention: The software numbers I listed are only for n54 engined cars. Other models will require different software.

i'm still not too sure of the difference when I have the sport button on and when I have the sport button AND the shifter to the left. I think it just kind of hard to pin it down on the city streets.
What I did learn yesterday is a nice new change in the HUD display. A coding change some like to make is to enable the M-view for the HUD but something that has disappointed is the green/yellow/red banded rpm gauge was not calibrated for our engines so it never matched up.
Watch this video and if you look carefully you will see when I hit close to red line in the tach the HUD display matches! Pretty lousy video at the moment. I'll check it out some more to confirm what I am seeing and make a better video.

Do you notice a difference between the shifter to the left *without* sport pressed and shifter in D with sport pressed?

Not sure. If there is a difference it is hard to quantify just driving around on daily errands. Perhaps at WOT/max rpms there is a difference in the shifting
