With the new sports shifter handle, does it "click" in to place?
i.e. What holds it down?

 

You push it forward and back and it returns to the middle.
When you move to DS, it just kinda stays over. Doesn;t feel like it goes through a gate or anything.
But if you are in reverse or some other reason you can't move to DS, it just won't go over.

Its just there doesn't seem to be anything that holds the handle part on to the shaft (once it's cut down).

 

mpg problem could be that the iDrive decided that us gals was appropriate for my car...

Yes and no...

I got a good deal on a SAT shifter and Sports button, but I'm going away for two weeks so didn't want to fit it until I get back.

Now understand how the normal shifter shaft needs to be cut down, so will document that in case anyone else wants to do it.

But will get back on the case in June
