I think everything was done right but then again you never know... i did go to get the subs and amp installed at a very well known shop that seems to have some proffesional installers there... the installers even drive matching E38 740s LOL

Its the mtx 4500 2 12" subs in a sledge hammer box that came from MTX with a 850 watt audio planet... i think its just not putting out enough power to get the bass thru the cabin.

I was thinking of maybe purchasing some different subwoofers and keep the amp and see if that helps or i might just purchase something more powerfull and this time get a ported box...

Any sub+amp combo you recommend?
I'd ask your installers to make sure that the subs are wired to the correct ohm level. At this point, that's probably the most important thing, since your subs are in the correct size box. Also, make sure the subs are facing the rear, and not facing the front.

Hmm... so many subs to choose from. What's your budget? Also, what kind of music do you usually listen to most? I'm assuming you like a lot bass, since you're upgrading from dual 12"s. I'd probably say...

Best bang-for-the-buck set-up:
Alpine SWR-1242D 12" Type-R Sub
2 cu. ft. Custom-Ported Box

Louder set-up but w/ little less sq:
Kicker S12L7 12" Solo-Baric L7 Sub
2 cu. ft. Custom-Ported L7 Box

Best sq set-up that gets decently loud:
JL Audio 12W6v2 12" Sub
2 cu. ft. Custom-Ported Box

Or if you prefer a dual sub set-up (would have to go sealed since ported would be too big)...
(2) JL Audio 12W3v2 12" Subs
Dual 12" Sealed Box

Your Planet Audio amp should work fine with these set-ups. But, if you're looking for a new amp, I'd probably recommend...

Reliable amp that puts out rated power at good price:
U.S. Amps XT-2000D 1200W Mono Amp

Awesome amp in tiny package:
Alpine PDX-1.1000 1000W Mono Amp

Under-rated power and puts out rated power @ 1-4 ohms:
JL Audio 500/1 500W Mono Amp

Fantastic 5 will give you a good deal on your potential setup. Good Luck

Thanks for all the info!

So any of those sub woofers combined with my amp that i have now should give me more bass?
I think my mtx 4500s are rated at 225 each.

How much you think my amp can handle?

Also i forgot to ask... should i face the subs towards the cabin or the opening of the trunk?

Okay so i need your guys help one more time...

I decided to go with one 2OHM S12L7 Kicker with a kicker box... i attached a picture.
I connected it to my audio planet amp and i got slightly more bass but still not enough so i think i need a little bit more powerfull or so people say.

Which amp do you guys suggest picking up for the sub? Keep in mind that im on a budget (spent to much money this month on the car)
I was thnking about finding a used JL 500.1...

THe JL 500/1 would be much batter, but if you wanna go even crazier with some insane bass get the JL 1000/1.
