EDIT: btw, what box do you use? a ported box will give you more bass that a sealed one. I did a comparison between my car and another forum member with the same JL sub and makes a big difference.

I had the same issue in my E39 540i... i had to cut out a custom ski pass to get sound into the cabin.

It didnt come like that. the installer that did the system made the cutout. he told me it was pretty easy to do.

Im on my E39 i had to get it cut out at a body shop... i woulnd't say its easy.
Maybe the E60 you can just remove it or something? im going to stop by an audio shop see if they can do it...
