I had somone smoke mine.. $70 sounds pretty good mine were $75 so as long as it comes out decent you got yourself a deal. Mine aren't very dark I jsut wanted the red to not stand out as much and I didn't want the clear strip above that to be tinted so only the red portion of my tails are tinted.. however on the new car I'm going to go darker like lokoloko

thanks everyone for all the responses.

That $20 film idea is great, since you can always remove it easily.

I think I might just order a pair.

can you smoke the lights on a lease? and is there a limit to how dark you can go? I have a jet black 535i on the way and I want to smoke it as dark as possible...

You referring to spraying them? If so, I doubt you can return a lease with the lights sprayed. If you go the film route, then yes, as you can remove the film prior to returning the car.

Chang - Just as FANTASTIC 5 mentioned below (Thank you F 5 ), I got the film from this seller. It's laser cut to fit directly on to the clear part of the rear tail light. However, it requires you to fit it as if you were tinting the window. That means you'll need a spray bottle of soapy water, a hairdryer or heat gun and a squeegee. If you're not handy, I would take the film to a local tint shop, throw them $10 or $20 and have them do it. I did it myself, but would suggest having a professional do it.

Anyway, the tails look great. I get compliments all the time and most of the time, people think they are sprayed. And the best part is, I paid $20!

Looks great. Do you have smoke or light smoke on your car?

I want to make mine like the one in the picture.

Are this sprayed or film?

Those are painted.

I think with film, you can only smoke the whites (because of the "bump" on the red). I may be wrong though.
