Here are some comparison shots when I installed Shadowline Trim.
IMO, the chrome didn't look so hot with the tinted windows rolled up but........ with the windows all the way down, the chrome trim really outlined the window openings well. I just liked the darker look.
The price was 205.00 for the trim package and 20 bucks for UPS shipping c/o Garry Romani.

I guess I'm one of the few who does not mind it at all. When people look at my car they don't look at my trim first, they look at how gorgeous the car is.

It's all a matter of taste. To me, I love the chrome contrast on Blue, White, and Titanium Silver E60's, especially with chrome kidneys and chrome accents on the wheels. It gives a classy appearence. For my own E60, I wanted a more agressive/sporty appearance and I feel the shadowline (along with black kidneys and other accents) help. Hell, I'm probably the only member who has a black painted roof spoiler on my titanium silver car because it ties in the shadowline trim and dark tint

a lot of patience and electrical tape

took me 2 hours. You will need a heat gun to smooth the bubbles. Clean the trim with water before laying down the tape. $8 dollars mod

But I eventually got the real stuff after 6 months.

Really thinking about doing this, Did you pop the trim off or just kept them on and worked slowly?

No, he worked it slowly on the existing chrome trim and used a heat gun to get rid of bubbles.
