Had the updates installed with no success. Receiver still isn't working. So, I may purchase a receiver from EBay for a couple of hundred bucks or forget it. One thing that sticks out is I'm not seeing any channels and it's my understanding that channel 184 should allow for previews regardless.

I spoke with the dealer and they want to charge $145.00 for diagnostics and $345.00 if a software update is needed.

I purchased the car CPO in 2013 and never got a XM subscription until now to find out that the satellite system isn't working. My suspicion is the receiver never worked and I'm caught with this problem. I also spoke with BMW USA and they probably won't assist me with this issue either. So much for CPO.

Does anyone have any ideas?

thanks,
I had a 2005 545. The CCC system showed XM tuning. Like you, I called a couple of times to XM turned on. I discovered that that the vehicle was set up for the receiver but was NOT installed. If you go into your trunk, you should see a fairly large silver box attached to the driver side wheel well.
