Ok I just let some water run over the hood and it all trickles into the grill. And with fast air flow it must be forced right up that tube unless BMW has some system that prevents water droplets from entering the engine.

At high speeds I doubt all the water flow would travel against the force of the wind into the grill area. Honestly I wouldn't worry about it at all, but if you are so concerned just email RPI
