Hello everybody, quick question, can you replace the Sirius module and not have to take it in to the dealer for reprogramming. I bought a module off eBay, had the dealer retrofit and it?s flakey - lots of ?acquiring signal? issues. Dealer checked all connections and even installed new shark fin and said nothing is wrong with the antennae, must be the module. So I am thinking I'll try getting another module, but hoping I don?t have to take it in for another reprogramming. Thanks.

I don't think it should - the car is already expecting to "see" the module inline. Unless it is also coded to only allow the specific serial/build date, I don't think it would be a problem. In any event, your car listed as a 2007. Aren't you covered under warranty?

Hey thanks, I actually bought a used Sirius Module off eBay (new ones were back ordered because the new XM/Sirius version under development) and had the dealer retrofit it. So if my module itself is bad, it's not covered under the warranty. All of the cabling and shark fin is covered and they replaced that. I guess I will go ahead and find another module and see if it fixes the "acquiring signal" issues. Thanks again!
