Replace base Audio CD Drive w/ DVD Drive (used in NAV equipped cars)

My Ride: 2006 525i, Premium,Cold,Xenon Packages
I have a 2006 525i w/o NAV or Premium Audio (Logic7) .. I have read at diff forums, ppl with DVD Navigation drive were able to read DVD-Rs burned with MP3s..
I was just curious, Is it possible somehow to replace my CD Drive with a DVD Drive (Dont need any NAV features.) so I could play Mp3s from burned DVD-Rs, which takes out the need to install an AUX or IPOD Adaptor completely.

Hey,
Old post I know, but did you ever get anymore with regards to swapping the in-dash CD drive for an in-dash DVD?
the nav-drive can read the mp3 cd's, but obviously I would like to leave the nav cd in there and have another dvd above it for the music disc...
