Default Ram Air Induction..thoughts?

I'm thinking of installing a ram air induction kit in my 550i. I was wondering if there is any true functionality to this. Has anyone had a positive experience with this that they could share?

Thanks!

are you referring to the RPI ram air induction scoop? if interested we have them in stock. the way it works is there is an inlet tunnel that has an opening 90 degrees from your kidney grill. the scoop would direct almost half the air coming in through your kidney grill into that tunnel, and that tunnel is directly connected with your stock airbox. tested on a dyno dynamics the gain is about 5-7 hp to the wheels with the scoop alone.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm referring to. Thanks for the insight that is very helpful. I'll be sure to reach out when I move on them.

i find it hard to believe it would create 5-7hp while stationary on a dyno. now if you said it would create power at speed, then thats a different story.

on the dyno, and RPI tests with the hood closed, a fan is blowing from a specified distance airflow at 70mph.

Nerwyll, how much are just 2 scoops? I have a 550 and a Dinan intake on order so I don't need the filters.

you have to get the scoop and bmc filter combo to notice real gains.
