Yes, the REMUS seems to fit the bill.
It will be drone free at cruising speeds and low RPMs but the tone will definately change at WOT due to its straight through design.
hmm can you quote me for one with tips similar to stock? also would you have a sound clip on the 545?

thanks

I have the Remus as well and find no drone and a deeper sound. I would recommend.

Do a search on "droning" or "drone" by user "Bimmer32" and learn from my experimentation. You will see that a cheaper solution is a perfect fit for the dedicate ears and loud enough for the occassional WOT. Don't waste your time with removing resonators. It's the mufflers that you need to concentrate on. See the Updated thread.

The exhaust note is definitely German v8, and it won't wake up the neighborhood; yet, background music for other drivers, and symphony inside the cabin.

Is there any difference in after market exhuasts for the '08 550i's? It seems the factory exhaust is different with more gurgle. I don't want to loose that but wouldn't mind it a bit louder when opened up or revved. Any plans for a quad exhaust for the 550i?

The QUAD will fit all models:

There are many differences between aftermarket companies, ranging from quality, sound and performance!
