The price quoted was installed. But of course not including the diffuser..

I was going to have eurorev redo the existing mtech diffuser, which they claim they can make the right side match even with the little lip that comes out. But now I keep looking at the hamann.... but damn that's like $900 for jus the diffuser.

I'm leaning towards the remus, so I'm calling Eurorev to price between the eisenman dual and remus...

I gotta find someone to price the dual borla's.
AAA is not the cheapest muffler shop out there, but they do good work. I think you'll be able to save some money if you buy your Remus system somewhere else and just have AAA do the install. If you're getting it from Eurorev, I think they can do the install for you if you're not doing any resonator deleting or straight piping. Also if you're getting an M5 bumper, you'll have to take it to a muffler shop because the exhaust needs to be modified to fit correctly.

jordan23junkee did custom Borla quads on his 530i and he said it cost him about $650. He got the work done at Steve's Muffler in Glendale.

Thanks for the info. So I measured the oem 545 pipe and it was 2.91", the Remus is 2.76". That makes the Remus 0.15" (3.81mm) smaller in diameter than the oem pipe. What's everyone's opinion on this. It seems like it's close enough where it shouldn't be restricting the flow, or am I wrong?

One more thing Matt........the inlet pipe is slightly wider at the end (where the clamp is in this picture) so that it can slip onto the oem pipe on the 525/530.............and the rest of the way to the muffler it is slightly smaller in diameter. Do you know whether the 2.76" measurement refers to the wider part or the narrower part? I am assuming that when they say 2.76" inlet they really mean that it's designed to slip over an oem pipe that is 2.76" in diameter, which would mean the wider part at the very end is probably bigger than 2.76". If so it would probably be about the same size as the 545's oem pipe...which would make welding them together easier.

Restricting the flow at the end of the exhaust system, at the mufflers, causes next to no harm in terms of performance.
2.76 is for the regular piping, the slip-on part is indeed bigger.

Thanks for everyone's help especially rodybmw and remusexhaustshop

I've decided on the remus quad that is made for the 530, which should be an easy retrofit for the 550. I also ordered the hamann diffuser

i'll let everyone know how it sounds and upload some sound clips afterwards....
