Hi guys,

wondered if anyone has any thoughts/help on this:

I bought a set of 2006 folding M5 mirrors with puddle lamps to go on my 2004 535 (I know there are module incompatibility issues with this setup but thats all sorted and the mirrors work fully/correctly)

The drivers side(UK) puddle lamp was not working properly (only 2 of the 6?? LED's were lighting up) so I bought a brand new lamp to replace the broken one..

I searched through realoem and found out the product number for the lamp was 63316913278.. so I ordered..

but now that its arrived the lamp is not the same as the one in my mirrors.. (its longer with a different angle on the LED section) so doesnt fit right

I re-checked real oem and the product number is definately right.. infact it seems to be the same no matter the year (pre or post 2006) or model(m5/535)you select

any ideas on whats gone wrong?? would like to get some info before I give the dealer a call

thanks

sounds like you got the puddle light for a non-M5 mirror. the puddle lights on the M5 mirrors are shorter for sure. you could custom fabricate a solution by removing the puddle light and replacing it with your own LED strip. given that its under the mirror no one would ever see it, esp if you install it inside the mirror facing downward...just tossing out ideas. otherwise take it to a very knowledgeable dealer (?)
