I have a set of HID bulbs with slim digital ballast lying around since long. Is it not just a matter of buying H8 Xenon bulbs and use it with the existing ballast and simple swap?

Would this work? if not why not? HID kit is 35 watt and the H8 bulb is 35 watt too? Am I missing something here?

 

it is not. you need to purchase my HID angel eye kit. They are $230. If you use those slim ballasts, they will not turn on and will flicker.

I fully agree John's point here and I am fan of his products. Since I live on the other side of the Atlantic I will have to pay extortionate tax and duty on already costly item making the deal not really worth it, so I was looking for something I could do here myself. Had I been in the USA I would have happily gone for his brilliant products.
