Long shoot question, just like you I don't have paddle lights but I wonder if it's possible to hardwire the paddle light to say the door light on the bottom? Also I wonder how the 2-wire auto fold work are those 2 just signal wires or like reversible +/-?

Did you order the pre or post-9/05 in the group buy for your LCI conversion? Based on the 3-wire in it's a post-9/05, right?

if tume confirms that this is the ecu that needs replacing, then i think the problem is:
* if you have no auto fold, you have no 2 wires going from your old ECU (in your current mirrors), which means you have no wires to cut, and there is no way you can connect the 2 wires going from the m5 auto fold to the old ecu.
* same applies for the paddle lights.

I have ordered the post 9/05 from the group buy for lci conversion..

...looks like this is definitely the ECU that needs replacing. According to the ETK, this is the common part in the m5 and lci standard mirror...

Sorry I have been away for a while. Yes that is indeed the motor you need to replace, although your M5 mirror motor looks different than mine did. But I think that your current motor fits in that spot?

you think???? i have yet to receive my car so i can't confirm whether it is possible or not.

regarding the cables, was my assumption right. I cut the wires ( 2 for the paddle lights, 2 for the autofold, 4 for the ec+heated mirros.) from the current ECU and then wire it to my new LCI ECU - is that right? depending on the options, i might not have 8 but less cables...
