I'm probably missing something, but why would you want to replace the OEM brakes?

I don't see the point as I think the standard brakes of the E60 are already quite good.

No, they are weak . Maybe even for a remapped 520d, if you go on track for 20 minutes .

I dont think its possible. The only reason they fit audi and vw, is because porsche is the same company. I am sure brembo sells big brake kits for e60 bmw.

I did a full weekend at VIR with bone stock brakes. I do have high temp fluid. I didn't experience one bit of fade. VIR has 2 long straights per lap with speeds 120-130+ mph at each. Considering 10 laps per session and 6 sessions, I did 120 near threshold level stops from 120+mph. Even my instructor was amazed at how strong the brakes were lap after lap.

However to be serious at the track, Brembos or at least track pads are recommended.

Re Porsche brakes, you have to consider ABS tuning, master cylinder volumes, front/rear matching, and way more. Go with a kit designed for the e60 if you must.

At which place can we find the cheapest Brembo BBK for our e60?

I can't say who's the cheapest but from a few sites I know:

Zeckhausen sells Stoptek. Some like them better than Brembos. They are $3295 front, $2595 rear "ouch" here: Zeckheusen Racing
Call them. Dave Z. knows his stuff. He's a long time sponser at M5board.com.

For comparison, Dinan sells the Brembos for $4250 front and $3295 rear "big ouch" here: Dinan
