I'd opt for none. If there was no state requirement for a front plate in MA, I wouldn't have one. I think it is a much cleaner look. Most people will know it's a BMW. No need for an extra roundel! Save the $$ and use it to take the long way home one day.
Move to Michigan

no front plates here.
These cars look great with no plate. I am running the $200 fine risk to keep it looking good.
I forget if you removed it or insisted it not be installed. If you removed it, or anyone else in cyberland, I'd like some tips on what to do with the holes .
The holes were never drilled. I have the plate, but do not even carry it. Some who have been ticketed in Texas have been required to bring the car in for inspection after the fine and after the holes, tag frame and tag have been installed.

The best way to plug the license bracket holes other than bodywork and paint is to put a round-head screw into the hole. Use an allen key style to look neatest. Paint the screw head if desired.
IMHO, adding a BMW front plate lacks imagination. Mount a polished stainless plate with a more meaningful insignia or even flag.
I dont know about a flag.

I think most like the idea of the black plate..so far that is my winner.

I asked the dealer in San Antonio Texas to leave it off. He told me by law they had to put it on. I was not happy
