all you have to do, is puta sealed enclosure firing into the car fromthe armrest, that way, you get no resonance in the trunk, and the sealed car cabin acts like a secondary "box" ...just make sure it isn't ported And no sound escapes between the junction from the box to the armrest into the trunk!

The best box you could do would be an aperiodic enclosure, with the woofer firing forward through the armrest, and the membrane venting into the trunk through the rear. Aperiodic enclosures are the smallest you can do, other than an infinite baffle. They are also the best sound quality.

Unfortunately, they are hard to build properly... because they require specific tuning of the membrane. Not many car audio shops have much experience with aperiodic membranes. You'll need to talk to a shop which frequently does sound quality competition.
