I've gone back and forth on ordering the HID kit, other LED options, and even looked at the $25 or so GP Thunder options. In the end I've come to the conclusion I'd give the LUX H8 Angel Eyes a shot. Obviously no pictures yet as they probably won't even ship for a week but I'll plan to update this thread once I get them. I'm going to try and do before and after pictures in daylight and at night. Also plan to get some pictures of one side with OEM lights and the other with the LUX lights.. but in actual daylight. I see a lot of these pictures in garages or at night but not actually in direct sunlight. I'll see if I can remedy this. We'll see if it's worth it after that.

Also, the last thread had some commentary about the error codes being thrown. I asked them about this and they weren't yet sure why it was happening but it did *seem* to be isolated to certain 2008 models. They told me if it throws error codes I am welcome to return for a refund (as I'd hope & expect), so not too worried about that.

i just bought a set of Lux from another member and installed them on my 2008 528i. since the 5 isn't my daily driver, i haven't really been able to take it out yet because of work. but so far there hasn't been any errors on starting it up and driving in and out of the garage. so far i really like them. definitely brighter than stock and not ugly yellow.

Way to rain on my parade before it even starts. We'll see I suppose. I am sure I can always sell them for pretty close to purchase price and buy the HIDs if I don't like it. There seems to be a tremendously large number of satisfied customers with these bad boys from the 3 series forums though. Maybe they are not as picky as us for this? Not sure.. I'll probably be like you though, if i don't like it/it bothers me I'll change it up pretty quick. Hopefully I'll not be disappointed.

With that said I actually got a tracking number this morning. What a quick turn around. It seems I may have these as early as Wednesday now.

It's not apples to apples comparison. The E9x platforms' angel eye design is different than E60. And honestly, I am not so sure about selling them close to purchase price. There doesn't seem to be much demand for them, especially after many members mentioned errors and the vendor not knowing wtf why it's happening. At least they offer refund though.

to be an optimist here: there are only 2 members that posted error codes, but I would guess that could be "many" as there are not too many members with lux's on their e60's. At least marc/luxangeleyes has isolated the problem to a somewhat specific MY2008. Also, regarding brightness, that's an individual measurement when it comes it liking the end result/product, especially when taking into consideration the alternative AE upgrades. That being said, like simon stated, at least marc/lux is guaranteeing proper function or full refund...

Lol, yes, many is definitely relative here. I can't imagine Lux being sold outside of these boards for E60 since it doesn't have the reputation it does for the E9xs. With that said, of what we know, there are two members that have error codes and only one that says he doesn't. Not a really good percentage if you ask me. And though I am being a bit forward, but I don't think it's an individual year (2008) issue. Of what I know, there's no different between any of the LCI xenon lights for 2008, 2009, 2010 in headlights or LM2. Would really shock me if that really is the case.
